According to House Bill 774, of the North Carolina General Assembly, the Certificate Relief Law has been amended, as of December 2018. Under the new law, a Certificate of Relief is a document provided by the court to assist individuals to deal with the automatic legal penalties that may occur due to certain classes of convictions. When A A Certificate of Relief is granted by the court, in which an individual is no longer automatically penalized or disqualified for employment or other benefits, because of certain crimes. To find out if your criminal history is eligible for a Certificate of Relief, attend a free workshop, hosted by the NCWorks Career Center, in in High Point, NC, on March 25, 2019. The time is from 10-11:30 am.
