Piano Instructor

Westchester Country Day School, a PK-12 college preparatory school located in High Point, NC, seeks a Piano Instructor to join the team starting in the 2023-2024 school year and provide quality piano instruction to students. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of music theory and a passion for teaching. The instructor will be taking over part of an already established studio. This position could potentially be combined with the Early Childhood Music Teacher position should qualifications and schedule allow for that opportunity. Responsibilities include:

 • Teaching students of all levels and ages, from Pre-K to 12th grade

 • Developing lesson plans based on each student’s individual needs and goals

 • Monitoring and evaluating student progress

 • Hosting two recitals per year with other private music instructors at the school

 • Cultivating a positive and encouraging teaching environment

 • Maintaining accurate and organized records 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field 

• Teaching experience preferred 

• Proficiency in multiple musical styles 

• Knowledge of music theory and technique 

• Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents 

• Ability to motivate and inspire students 

• Excellent organizational and time management skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
