    Essential Tasks


    • Oversees the management, operations, programs and staff in athletics and recreation centers; 
    • Plans, organizes, directs and evaluates competitive athletic programs for various age groups;
    • Coordinates use of fields and facilities through reservation software;
    • Recruits, trains, supervises and evaluates volunteers including coaches;
    • Establishes procedures with respect to scheduling, safety, registration of participants, game officials, safety and insurance;
    • Performs supervisory functions such as recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, directing, motivating, coaching, and evaluating staff;
    • Establishes operating procedures, defines goals and objectives, evaluates operations and programs, develops programming and service delivery guidelines;
    • Assists with developing, coordinating and conducting special events;
    • Establishes and ensures levels of customer service for all program areas, handling customer disputes when necessary;  
    • Assists marketing team with strategic outreach for each of the facilities through a variety of media platforms;
    • Establish and maintains partnerships with community businesses, organizations, instructors, and volunteers to enhance programs and services;
    • Assists in the development and administration of annual budget for athletics and recreation centers, oversees proper fiscal spending, revenue generation, and adheres to all city financial policies and procedures;
    • Performs administrative duties such as reporting, inventory of supplies and equipment, accident and incident reports, and safety inspections;
    • Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies. 




    Formal Education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management, Parks & Recreation Management or closely related field; 


    • At least five (5) years of experience developing and implementing recreation/athletics programming and activities.
    • At least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
