    The City of High Point's Library/Museum Name seeks to fill Visitor Services & Store Supervisor - Museum.
     
    Essential Tasks:

    • Greets visitors to the Museum, answers questions, directs them to other destinations, and ensures a positive and safe experience for all
    • Maintains awareness of gallery activities, reports security and maintenance issues to appropriate museum personnel
    • Maintains a clean, businesslike front of line work environment
    • Keeps attendance records of visitors on a daily basis and compiles monthly reports
    • Opens and closes the Museum daily
    • Takes reservations for Museum programs and special events
    • Manages rentals and reservations of meeting spaces in the Museum
    • Serves as safety coordinator for the Museum facility
    • Oversees the day-to-day operation of the Museum store, including the purchase of merchandise, making deposits, scheduling training, and supervising staff and volunteers
    • Follows all Federal rules concerning store management in non-profits as well as NC sales and use tax rules
    • Maintains inventory, prices and arranges merchandise according to High Point Historical Society policy
    • Manages vendor and consignment relationships and ensures prompt payment of invoices
    • Creates and files monthly summary store reports
    • Promotes current educational interests of the Museum and its exhibits with specially selected merchandise and signage
    • Works on product development, purchasing items of local interest
    • Promotes Museum and store through participation in high traffic festivals and bazaars within the community, such as Furniture Market and Showtime Fabric Show
    • Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and City Safety Standards and Policies. 
     
    Non-Essential Tasks
    Conducts tours through historic properties as needed
     
    Qualifications
    • Formal Education
      • Graduation from high school
    • Minimum of five years of retail experience
    • Proven record of effective budget and scheduling management experience
    • Experience with point of sale systems
    • Availability to work flexible hours, sometimes long hours including weekends and nights
    • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
     
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Supervisory experience
    • Spanish, or other non-English Language skills
     
    Salary: $33,203.04 - $42,540.20  Annually with benefits
