High Point, NC — Thrive High Point (THRIVE HP 2.0), a program dedicated to accelerating the growth and sustainability of local small businesses, has been awarded a $225,000 grant from Truist Foundation. This critical funding will support Thrive High Point’s continued efforts to equip entrepreneurs with the tools, resources, and support systems needed to succeed in today’s challenging economic landscape.
Small businesses are the backbone of High Point’s economic, social, and cultural vitality. However, many face significant barriers to growth and long-term sustainability. This grant will provide support for revenue growth, business planning, technical assistance, and strategies to help businesses scale. Among the more than 600 entrepreneurs supported by Thrive HP 2.0, nearly 78% are laying the foundation for consistent revenue growth, with 45% actively developing and re-developing stronger business plans and over half seeking ways to improve performance.
“This generous grant from Truist Foundation couldn’t come at a more crucial time,” said Rachel Collins, President & CEO of Business High Point. “The demand for tailored business support in our community continues to rise due to the growth that is occurring in High Point. With Truist’s support, we can expand our services and directly invest in the growth of High Point’s small business ecosystem.”
Thrive HP 2.0 takes a holistic, 1:1 approach to supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners through:
- 1:1 Business Coaching to provide personalized guidance from industry and business experts.
- Capacity-Building Workshops to strengthen marketing, financial management, and customer acquisition skills while aligning business plans with citywide revitalization efforts.
- Small Group Technical Support to help entrepreneurs with branding, digital presence, AI integration, HR strategies, credit building, and bookkeeping.
- Community Engagement Events that foster stronger ties between small businesses and their neighborhoods.
- Grantmaking Opportunities to scale successful ventures and launch new enterprises to meet regional demand.
Signature programs like Co-Working Wednesdays, Doing Business with the City, and Brick & Mortar Readiness have already proven essential in building confidence, enhancing skills, and creating a network of support for local entrepreneurs. “The future of small business in High Point is bright—and it’s support like this that turns potential into real progress,” said Dr. Telisha Roberts, Executive Director of Thrive HP 2.0.
“Truist Foundation is proud to support the High Point Chamber Foundation’s work through Thrive High Point 2.0’s concerted effort and investment in the growth of local small businesses,” said Joe Hellinger at Truist. “Aligned with Truist’s purpose to inspire and build better lives and communities, we’re excited to play a role in strengthening the future of High Point.”
