According to House Bill 774, of the North Carolina General Assembly, the Certificate Relief Law has been amended, as of December 2018. Under the new law, a Certificate of Relief is a document provided by the court to assist individuals to deal with the automatic legal penalties that may occur due to certain classes of convictions.
