    HIGH POINT — More than 20 teens graduated Tuesday from the YMCA of High Point and Business High Point-Chamber of Commerce’s pilot Teen Leadership High Point summer program.

    I relocated here three years ago with my wife and daughter. I have been welcomed. I have learned. I have seen generosity and Southern hospitality like I never expected. I am able to work with an amazing group of people who truly care about our community. It has been a great move.

    HIGH POINT — A campus scavenger hunt at High Point University on Tuesday was symbolic as the fi rst participants in a Teen Leadership High Point program began learning more about the community they call home.

The chamber sponsored a Cake at the Lake event Thursday at Oak Hollow Festival Park, a networking event that also marked the chamber milestone. In addition to food and drinks, the event featured pontoon boat rides courtesy of Duckhead Water Sports, live music by Rude City Project, games and more.

    High Point’s new Boys of Summer sent their fans home pleased Thursday night. Dante Bichette Jr. gave them the most enjoyment. Bichette clouted a home run for the first score in BB&T Point history and hit a two-run single, providing all the offense needed as three pitchers combined on a shutout as the Rockers stopped the Sugar Land Skeeters 3-0 in Atlantic League action.
